Essential oils that go through the cold pressing process come mainly from citrus fruits. The essential oil from citrus fruits stays at the surface of the peels and can be extract by puncturing or pressing this peel. The whole fruit is pressed mechanically or manually to squeeze out the oil. Manual pressing releases very pure essential oil.
Experiment at home with manual cold pressing to produce small amounts of essential citrus oil. Wash and dry the fruit and cut the peel in small pieces. Squeeze out with your fingers and use a bowl to collect the oil. Keep the oil in a small dark glass bottle (with pipette) and use it similar to other citrus oil.
