SQ ECO Wick 21/12 | Naturally Waxed for Soy Wax and Rapeseed Wax

SQ ECO Wick 21/12 is a candle wick coated with natural wax, developed for making candles with soy wax, rapeseed wax and other plant-based candle waxes. This version has a recommended candle diameter of 50–55 mm as a guideline. A practical choice for developing your own candle formulation, with or without fragrance and colour.

The flat, braided wick combines long-fibre cotton with paper to create a sturdy structure. With a length of 120 mm and a 15 mm metal wick tab already fitted, the wick is ready to use. There is no need to wax the wick or attach a wick tab yourself.

Natural Wax Coating with Beeswax

The wax coating consists of a blend of various natural waxes and oils, with added beeswax. This coating means you do not need to wax the wick yourself before use.

This wick is not vegan because it contains beeswax. Keep this in mind when selecting the ingredients for your candles.

Use and Wick Selection

Position the wick centrally in your candle container or mould and keep it in place during pouring and setting. Combine the wick with a candle wax suitable for the type of candle you want to make.

The recommended diameter of 50-55 mm is a guideline. The wax, fragrance oil, colourant and candle shape all influence the required wick size and the candle’s burning behaviour.

Always make a test candle and carry out a burn test using your own formulation. Observe how the flame and melt pool develop before producing a larger batch. If you change your candle formulation, test again to check that the chosen wick is still suitable.
