Part used: oil pressed from the peel of the Mandarin, Citrus nobilis, Rutaceae.
Mandarin is a tree that can grow up to 10 meters high and has a Chinese origin. This tree is noticeable for its small and oval-shaped leaves. The tree was given its name since in old China the fruits were offered to the rulers of the “Mandarins” as a sign of respect. Originally the tree mostly grew in Asia. Only since the 18th century the tree was planted around the Mediterranean.
