ECO FRIENDLY
SQ Eco Rapeseed Wax - cosmetic - extra hard - 100% pure & natural - OBW053
Description: This 100% pure and natural, high-quality SQ Eco Rapeseed wax is produced by hydrogenation and hardening of the Rapeseed. Rapeseed is a clear, yellow blooming plant from the mustard or cabbage family. The sunny, clear color is familiar in Britain and France, as it covers large surfaces of agricultural land during spring and summer months.
The European Rapeseed wax is becoming more popular due to the fact that it is more eco-friendly than the American counterpart; Soy wax. Moreover, the price is considerably lower. Rapeseed wax has a shorter travel path, which results in lower transportation costs.
Rapeseed wax is cultivated on crop fields that lie fallow several times a year in order to avoid crop diseases. Rapeseed wax consists of tiny, round, cream-colored pastilles, which are easier in use than flakes. This wax is extra hard and is used in a mix in order to harden a cosmetic product or as a replacement for Paraffin in cosmetic products.
For example: use 5 to 20% Rapeseed wax for the hardening of our 100% natural lip balm basis - OBW012.
For candles, this wax must be mixed with other waxes. NOT suitable for candles in it's pure form.
For container candles and melts we advise the Rapeseed Wax - SQ Eco Mix - 100% natural - OBW054.
Note: Due to the hard crystal structure, the wax, if used purely, will swell in the solidification phase.
